Academy Students Receive Scholarships from AAUW

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) San Francisco Branch Silver Jubilee Scholarship Committee recently awarded $2,000 scholarships to two Academy of Art University B.F.A. students. 

Each year, the scholarship fund provides awards to college-going women in the Bay Area. This year, two Academy student applications were recognized. Karina Garcia is a B.F.A. student in fashion design and April Ochoa-Kim is a B.F.A. student in interior architecture and design. Garcia received her award on Saturday, June 6 at the AAUW San Francisco Branch Annual Meeting and Installation Luncheon. Ochoa-Kim is an online student residing in Southern California. 

Academy Vice President, Cathy Corcoran, volunteers with AAUW and served as President of the San Francisco Branch from 2012-2015. AAUW is a non-profit organization that has been advancing equity for women and girls for over 130 years through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research with over 1,000 branches with 170,000 members and supporters nationwide.
