One of several threats shown in the ART U volleyball offense in two home victories, outside hitter Stine Raben (Advertising) was selected as Pacific West Conference Freshman of the Week. Career highs both offensively and defensively came for the Schwerin, Germany native at home this past week. The award was based on games played Sept. 28–Oct. 4.

In the Urban Knights’ home opener against Holy Names on Oct. 1, Raben posted a career-high 18 kills while hitting .333 and adding a pair of block assists. She delivered three straight kills amid a third-set run to take a lead that ART U would not relinquish en route to the set victory and a 3–0 sweep. Two days later on Oct. 3, Raben had a career-best 17 digs as part of her fourth double-double of the season in a rematch against Notre Dame de Namur. She would add 14 kills as well in the five-set battle.

Raben finished the week averaging 4.00 kills and 2.5 digs per set. She currently leads all PacWest freshmen with 3.15 kills per set.

This is Raben’s second PacWest Freshman of the Week honor of the season with her first coming after the year’s opening tournament.
